We are full timers and usually spend 2 – 3 weeks at each place we visit. When we arrived at Durango Ranch, we were awestruck with the appearance of the place, 360 views of the mountains and the incredibly clean, well kept and well groomed landscaping of the resort. We were greeted by a genuinely friendly lady at the front desk and soon learned that it is she and her family, husband, parents, kids and all that have worked, built and manage what is a utopia in the Rockies. It is lined with family culture that makes every visitor feel part of something special. You will see them working hard to not only keep the resort up, but also working on the surrounding farmland that lies between the ranch and not far off mountain landscape. The facilities are immaculately clean, new and maintained daily. The bathhouse and showers are something you would expect to find in a custom built home or a 5 star resort. The amenities are simple but pristine. No overkill here as this is a place that you can take a load off from the hustle and bustle of the big RV resorts and relax in a lawn chair taking in the sunset and regular rainbows or wind down in the high end jacuzzi. We found the location perfect for us as it is a 15 min drive to center city of the amazing Durango or a handful of trailheads for hiking and mountain biking. We also frequented Lake Nighthorse, a beautiful lake with swimming, kayaking and boating that was only 20 min away. Seriously, if you’re looking for a spacious RV resort that is operated by a family that treats the premises and the customers the same as they treat their own, then come to this place for a stay. This will without a doubt be the only place we stay in Durango going forward.
